STAR Mugavar Thiruvizha 2026



Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited (NSE: STARHEALTH, BSE: 543412), one of India’s leading standalone health insurance companies, marked its 20-year journey with “STAR Mugavar Thiruvizha 2026” in Vellore. The event brought together more than 750 agents and over 100 members of the company’s sales force, while recognising long-serving agents who have been associated with Star Health for two decades.

Star Health’s Pondicherry Zone issued over 82,000 policies, covered more than 2.07 lakh lives and recorded Gross Written Premium (GWP) of approximately ₹168 crore in FY26. The Zone has 12 branches, 9000 agents and 149 network hospitals supporting customers across the region.

During FY26, the Pondicherry Zone settled over 11,000 claims and paid nearly ₹92 crore towards claims. Since inception, the Zone has settled nearly 65,000 claims and paid over ₹434 crore towards claims. Customers across the Zone have access to nearly 150 network hospitals.

Held at Adhi Lakshmi Kalyana Mandapam, the event was organised by Star Health’s Pondicherry Zone under the leadership of Mr. Balajibabu, Business Head - Tamil Nadu, and Mr. Sekar, Zonal Head, Pondicherry Zone. Representatives from the company’s regional, claims, sales and learning and development teams also participated.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Balajibabu, Business Head - Tamil Nadu, Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited, said: “Vellore is an important market for Star Health, supported by agents who share strong relationships with customers and local communities. As we enter our next phase of growth, we will continue to strengthen our agent network and improve access to health insurance across Vellore, Tamil Nadu and the country.”

The event highlighted the role of agents in building health insurance awareness, helping customers understand their coverage requirements and supporting families with policy servicing and claims. Agents associated with Star Health since its early years were felicitated for their contribution to customers and the company’s growth.

Experiential stalls showcased the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India’s “Insurance for All by 2047” vision, career and growth opportunities for agents, Star Health’s hospital network, Pratham hospital services, Home Health Care and claims assistance. An audio-visual presentation traced the company’s key milestones and the evolution of its products, services and distribution network over the past two decades.

Across Tamil Nadu, Star Health operates 115 branches and is supported by more than 1.28 lakh agents. The company protects over 38 lakh lives in the state and has paid more than ₹10,800 crore in claims since inception.

Through STAR Mugavar Thiruvizha 2026, Star Health reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its agent network, expanding health insurance awareness and helping more families across Vellore and Tamil Nadu access health protection.
