Vikaasa Heritage school students participated in GSF MI4 Grand Finale



Witty International School, Mumbai, has recently successfully hosted the Grand Finale of the Global School Foundation's Make in India Innovation Initiative (MI4). The prestigious event was aimed at providing a platform for students to showcase groundbreaking innovations and foster the spirit of entrepreneurship. 

The event saw an overwhelming participation of over 800 students from all GSF India campuses be it Vikaasa Schools, Madurai, GIIS Ahmedabad, GIIS Pune (Hadapsar & Balewadi), OWIS Bangalore (Whitefield & Sarjapur), Glendale Academy, Glendale International School, Tellapur Campus, Glendale International School, Financial District, GIIS Noida & GIIS Bangalore (Bannerghatta & Whitefield)

The event began on a ceremonial note with a traditional lighting of lamps by the Chief Guest- Mr. Rahul Deshpande, COO, GSF, and Esteemed Jury- Mr. Deep Mehta, Partner at Luxor Electronics and Mr. Ram Patil, Promoter & Principal Consultant at ISEEE who set the stage together for an event filled with anticipation and excitement. The competition, which commenced with 100 teams showcasing their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit for the top spot, agreed with a progression of rounds. After a series of intense competitions, the trailblazing 13 finalists were shortlisted to compete in the grand finale, for the GSF MI4 Champions title. All 13 finalists’ teams showcased their innovative ideas amidst intense competition and impressive presentations.

14 teams of 76 students participated in the competition across all Vikaasa Schools. 6 students (1 Team) of Madurai Vikaasa Heritage School have qualified to finals as top 13 finalists and showcased a project called Leaf Sense. Leaf sense project utilizes AI for rapid and precise diagnosis of plant diseases, addressing the need for efficient plant health management.

Amongst them, team The Food Fortifiers from GIIS Hadapsar, Pune, presenting the project on Food Wise: Reducing Food Waste, Nourishing Lives, emerged as the GSF MI4 Champions. The runners-up, team The Environment Enthusiasts from OWIS Sarjapur, secured the 2nd position with their project, Eco-tech: The Ultimate Green Endeavor, followed by The Education Enablers from GIIS Ahmedabad, leaving a lasting impression with their cutting-edge technology solution, Gyanrath.

The Country Director of GSF India Mr. Ashish Tibdewal praised the students' remarkable achievements, and mentioned, “I am thrilled to witness the potential and creativity displayed at the GSF MI4 Grand Finale. I extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, organizers, and supporters who made this event a resounding success.”

The GSF MI4 Champions were congratulated and awarded by our esteemed jury and special dignitaries and further heartfelt gratitude was extended to all participating schools for their enthusiasm and dedication. The GSF MI4 Grand Finale was ultimately a remarkable celebration of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
