Director Guganesan Sonaimuthu's film Suppan is set to release in December



A new film titled “Suppan” has been created under the direction of S.P.S. Guhan (Guhaneshan Sonaimuttu), the cinematographer known for films like Muyal, etc. The film is scheduled for screening on Saturday at 5 p.m. on the Madurai–Theni route, Andipatti.The story, screenplay, dialogues, cinematography, and direction have all been handled by Guhaneshan Sonaimuttu. Centered on the idea of “Surasamharam”—the slaying of an evil-minded demon and its moral justice—the film takes inspiration from this theme.

The film has been produced by Rotarian R. Anandhamurugan, under Sri Bhagavans Pictures. Music is composed by Jose Franklin. Editing is by Jayakrishna, art direction by Damodaran Ram, choreography by Nishar Khan, makeup by Idhaya James, and production management by Sivakasi Bala and Samuthra Senthil. Public relations were handled by N. Vijayamurali.Songs were written by Mohanrajan and Karumathur Manimaran, and sung by Mukesh and Shivani.

The film discusses the problems faced by women due to social media and also showcases the social service and activities carried out by Rotary Clubs.

The film features actors Anandha Murugan (debut), Palahasan, Yasar, and actresses Gayathri Rema, Sharmisha, and Swathi S. Pillai in lead roles.Other actors include Dr. Saravanan, Rotarian Viswa Narayan, Srideva, Mithun Chakravarthy, Gajaraj, Saravana Sakthi, Hello Kandasamy, and many more.

The film highlights the issues women face today due to social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. It also includes scenes that portray the community service activities carried out by Rotary Clubs across the country. Filming took place in Madurai and surrounding areas. The final stages of post-production have been completed, and “Suppan” is set to release in December.

Director Guganeshan Sonaimuthu said:“Our film Madurai to Theni Route Andipatti received tremendous reception from the audience, especially in areas around Madurai. Now, Suppan has been made with producer R. Anandha Murugan from Madurai. 

The film includes scenes that depict the dangers women face on social media. It has been made with the intention of raising awareness about women’s safety,” he said.
