Shiv Nadar University Chennai, a higher education initiative of Shiv Nadar Foundation and the first State Private University was legislated by the State Govt ofTamil Nadu after 90 years, has announced the opening of applications for its undergraduate programs for the academic year 2026-27. Prospective students can apply online starting January 15, 2026, through the dedicated admissions portal: <https://www.snuchennai.edu.in/ug-admissions/>. The University offers a diverse portfolio of undergraduate programs designed to prepare students for emerging academic and industry demands. These include B.Tech programs in the SSN School of Engineering such as Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, CSE (Cyber Security), CSE (Internet of Things), Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, ECE (VLSI Design & Technology), Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering.
In addition, undergraduate programs are offered in the School of Commerce and Management, including B.Com, and B.Com (Professional Accounting). B.Sc. Economics (Data Science)is being offered under the School of Science & Humanities. The Shiv Nadar School of Law offers an integrated B.A., LL.B. Program, open to students from all academic streams.
To ensure accessibility, the Shiv Nadar University Chennai Entrance Examination (SNUCEE) will be conducted across 14 centres nationwide, with an additional exam centre in Dubai. The complete list of centres is - SNUC Campus Chennai, Chennai non-Campus, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Thirunelveli, Vellore, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Trivandrum and Dubai.
The SNUCEE Phases start on 11th April 2026 and the final Phase is on 9th May 2026. The last dates for applying for each phase is given in the Information Brochure and is subject to SNUCEE Slots being available for the Exam Centre at the time of applying.

Admission Process and Eligibility
· Admissions to undergraduate programs in Engineering, Commerce, and Economics are conducted through the Shiv Nadar University Chennai Entrance Examination (SNUCEE), followed by a personal interview for shortlisted candidates. Select seats are also available through JEE Main scores (candidates with JEE Mains score of 90 percentile and above are considered for shortlisting for the interview). Admission to Tamil Nadu State Board toppers from rural districts will be provided based on merit and University policy.
Eligibility criteria vary by program, with Engineering applicants required to have studied Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in Class 12, while Commerce and Economics programs accept students from relevant academic backgrounds. The B.A., LL.B. Program is open to students from all streams
Shiv Nadar University Chennai follows a strong merit-based admissions philosophy, with multiple scholarship options including Merit, Merit-cum-Means, Sports, and Walk-in-Walk-out scholarships. The University emphasises that financial constraints should not impede deserving students from accessing quality education.
