The Rise - 16th Global Sumit of Tamil Entrepreneurs & Professionals to be held in Madurai on 08th January to 11th January 2026. The conference will be inaugurated by Minister P. Moorthy.
The Rise was founded in 2016 with the objective of bringing together Tamils living across the world on a single platform. The first conference was held in Madurai. Subsequently, The Rise World Tamil Business Leaders Conferences were successfully conducted in various countries, and now, as the 16th conference, the international conference of The Rise is once again being held in Madurai.
The inauguration ceremony of this World Tamil Business Leaders Conference, conducted under the name “The Rise - Sangam 5: Maa Madurai 2026,” will take place tomorrow (January 8) at 5.00 PM at the Velammal IDA Scudder auditorium. At the opening ceremony, a portrait of King Thirumaran will be unveiled. He completed the Second Sangam also known as the Intermediate Sangam and inaugurated the Third Tamil Sangam in Madurai. On the same stage, tributes will be paid to Pandithurai Thevar, who established the Fourth Sangam in Madurai in 1901. The event will be presided over by Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes and Registration Minister Mr. P. Moorthy, who will inaugurate the conference and deliver a special address. MP, Mr. A. Raja will participate as the chief guest and speak on the topic, “Let us refine the 21st-century Tamil genetic legacy along the path laid down by tholkapiyar, Thirumoolar, Thiruvalluvar, Vallalar, and the hundreds of scholars who spoke Tamil.”
Special guests include Chairman of the Velammal Group of Institutions, Mr. Muthuramalingam, , General Secretary of the Tamil Economic Council, Mr. Namachivayam, Pattimandram speaker Mr. Raja, Chairman of The Rise UAE Supreme Council, Mr. Sahul Hameed and leaders and administrators of The Rise organization from various countries. As part of the event, a dream project titled “Anaitthulaga Tamizhoor” will be released. Through this project, Tamil culture, language, medicine, tourism, and traditional lifestyle will be promoted globally.
Earlier, on the morning of January 8 at 8.00 AM, the World Tamil Jallikattu competition will be held at the Dr. Kalaignar Jallikattu Arena in Alanganallur. The inauguration ceremony of this Jallikattu competition, organized by the Sangam-5 Conference Committee. It will be presided over by Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes and Registration Minister Mr. P. Moorthy, TamilNadu Jallikattu peravai President, Mr. P. Rajasekaran, Madurai District Collector Mr. K.J. Praveen Kumar. MP, Mr. Su. Venkatesan, will participate as the chief guest. Participants in the event include Founder of The Rise Global Organization, Father Jegath Kaspar Raj, President of the Tamil Nadu Trade Association,Mr. Jegatheesan, Pattimandram speaker Mr. Raja, South Zone Director of The Rise Organization, Mr. Perrys Mahendravell, The Rise, Madurai President Mr. Patanjali Saravanan and others.
On the second day of the four-day Sangam-5 Conference, January 9, a special highlight of the event will be the presentation of the “Global Tamil Media and Tamil Impact Awards.” Tamil Nadu Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban Development, and Water Supply, K.N. Nehru, will participate as the chief guest and present the awards while delivering a special address. Special guests include Founder, Chairman, and Chancellor of Vels University, Mr. Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, Director and actor K. Bhagyaraj, producer Mr. Kalaipuli S. Thanu, director and actor Mr. Ponvannan, actor Mr. Vela Ramamoorthy, speaker Mr. Gopinath, actor Mr. Ganesh Venkatraman and others.
On the third day, January 10, a medical conference titled “Medical Advancement 2026” will be held on behalf of international Tamil doctors. Tamil doctors from various countries will participate and speak about the advancements that have taken place in the medical field. In addition, The Rise Next Gen Education Leaders Awards - 2026 event will also be held. Tamil Nadu Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Dr. Palanivel Thiyaga Rajan, will participate as a special guest and deliver a special address.
Various business and trade activities and conferences will be conducted, including a trade exhibition, buyer-seller direct meetings, Pitch Fest (idea presentation event), Information Technology conference, Women’s Conference, Human Resources, Education, Engineering and Manufacturing sector conferences, Global Logistics Forum, and meetings with bank officials, financial experts, and auditors. More than 2,000 participants from 55 countries are expected to take part.
On the final day of the conference, Sunday, January 11, at 8.00 AM, the World Tamil Unity Pongal will be celebrated in a grand manner at Keezhadi. Special guests include Tamil Nadu Minister for Cooperation Mr. Periyakaruppan, Thiruvadikudil Swamigal Balaprajapathi Adigalar, President of the Tamil Nadu Jamaathul Ulama Sabha,P.A. Khaja Mueenuddin Baqavi, Bishop Lourdu Anandam of Sivagangai Archbishop Antony Samy Savarimuthu of Madurai, and South Indian Church Madurai - Ramanathapuram Manadala Bishop Bishop Jayasingh Prince Prabhakaran.
The organizers stated that “The Rise - Sangam 5: Maa Madurai 2026” will be a historically significant conference that will guide the future journey of Tamils for the next 70 years.
