Chennai students have made the city proud by securing top international ranks in the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) Examinations for the academic year 2025-26. This year’s SOF Olympiad witnessed participation from millions of students across 70 countries, including more than 26 thousand students from Chennai.
Bringing laurels to the city, A. Varsha (Class 11) of Heartfulness International School, Omega Branch secured International Rank 1 in the International English Olympiad (IEO) and won a Gold Medal. Meanwhile, Ajaiy P. (Class 12) of Chettinad Vidyashram and Jaidev S. (Class 9) of The Pupil Saveetha Eco School secured International Rank 2 in the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) and won Silver Medals. The students also received Certificates of Outstanding Performance and Certificates of Distinction.
The students proudly attended the 28th SOF International Annual Award Ceremony organized at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, where they were felicitated in the presence of Hon’ble Justice Sh. Vijay Bishnoi, Judge, Supreme Court of India, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was also graced by Prof. Y. S. Rajan, Former Chairman, NIT Manipur and Distinguished Professor, ISRO; Sh. Himanshu Gupta (IAS), Secretary, CBSE, Ministry of Education, Government of India; and Dr. Praveen Gupta, Chairman, Marengo Asia International Institute of Neuro & Spine, as Guests of Honour, along with distinguished educators, parents, and dignitaries.
