The Central Government has taken immediate action in response to the request made by Tamil Nadu Minister for Social Welfare and Women’s Rights, Ku. Jegadeshwari to include the Tamil language in the Central Government’s ‘Mission Shakti’ app. This has enabled the people of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to use the Mission Shakti app in their mother tongueTamil and easily access services related to women’s safety and welfare.
Participating in a national conference held in Delhi, Minister Ku. Jegadheeswari emphasised that language should not be a barrier to ensuring that schemes related to women’s safety, empowerment and welfare reach all people. In particular, she requested that the Tamil language be included in the Mission Shakti app for the benefit of the people of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Following the Minister’s request, the Central Government took swift action and included the Tamil language in the Mission Shakti app. This initiative will help government welfare schemes and support services for women reach Tamil-speaking people more easily.
Speaking on this, Minister Ku. Jegadheeswari said, “I express my gratitude to the Central Government for taking immediate action on the request I made on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government and the Tamil people. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi for supporting the inclusion of the Tamil language in the Mission Shakti app.” She also noted that the Central Government’s action in recognising the needs of the people, responding immediately to the request and giving Tamil its rightful place is commendable.
